A hidden garden on Lesbos where you arrive as a guest and leave as a friend.
Welcome at
The garden houses
Miracle Garden grew from a simple wish: to open a place where people can arrive, breathe out and feel at home. A garden that welcomes you as you are and gives you room to rest, heal and grow at your own pace.
What matters most to us here is warmth – hospitality, community, honesty and care, so that everyone who visits feels safe, seen and held.
Our dream is a garden beyond judgement, a place where every person can simply be.

Immerse yourself in medieval Molivos
Get active and satisfy your thirst for adventure

High above the harbour of Molivos rises its castle, on the hilltop where the acropolis of the ancient city of Methymna once stood. From up here you can look across the Aegean all the way to the coast of Asia Minor.
In 1355 the Byzantine emperor John V Palaiologos gave the island to his sister Maria as a dowry when she married the Genoese nobleman Francesco I Gattelusi. The couple loved Lesbos, and around 1373 they rebuilt the ruined castle of Methymna stone by stone. They planted olive trees on the hillsides, and it is said that the name "Molivos" goes back to the Frankish "Mont d'olives" – the mount of olive trees.
When the Ottomans took the island in 1462, they did not destroy the castle: they strengthened and expanded it, and most of the buildings inside the walls today still date from that time.
Today it is the second largest castle on Lesbos – a polygonal fortress with ten towers, built of the island's grey and reddish stone. Climb up through the cobbled lanes of the old town, and from the battlements you will see the red roofs of Molivos, the harbour below and the endless blue of the Aegean – one of the most beautiful views in Greece.
